Chestertown RiverArts invites artists to the 4th Annual “Paint the Town” Thursday, April 25 to Sunday, April 28 in historic Chestertown. This weekend will be filled with exciting activities and fun for plein air artists. Chestertown offers a wide range of subjects from historic streetscapes and gardens to the color and charm of the outdoor Farmers’ Market. Other special weekend events include the annual Taste of the Town on Sunday right after the Quick Draw competition.
This non-juried event is open to plein air artists painting in all media and includes a “Wet Paint” exhibition and sale, 5-7 p.m. Saturday evening, April 27, and a “Quick Draw” on Sunday morning, April 28. Prizes will be awarded at both events.
At the conclusion of the Quick Draw competition, participating artists may leave up to three pieces of unsold work at the Chestertown RiverArts exhibition, “Second Look,” set to open on Friday, May 3, 5-8 p.m.
“Paint the Town” space is limited and participation is on a “first-come, first-served basis” with submission of entry form and $40 fee. We will solicit hosting for any out-of-area artists who request this on the participation form. For “Paint the Town” entry form and updates, check the website: www.chestertownriverarts.org, or contact Melinda Carl at [email protected], or Lani Seikaly at [email protected].
