International Women’s Networking Group Meets in Easton

The Network of Entrepreneurial Women Worldwide (NEWWW) had dinner with a number of Talbot County businesswomen this past Thursday at the Tidewater Inn in Easton. Businesswomen from Quebec, Canada, Democratic Republic of Congo, France and Turkey traveled to Easton to participate in NEWWW’s Bi-Annual Networking Meeting that was held in Talbot County.

The dinner provided for Talbot County women entrepreneurs, leaders, senior level businesswomen and women from the creative arts community to both welcome and network with the international delegation. The main focus of the evening was networking where both Talbot County women and those in the delegation were able to make significant international connections.

The group also toured a number of women-owned or led businesses and organizations to meet the business owners, listen to brief presentations and network with the leadership and owners of these organizations. The scheduled presenters and stops were Amy Haines, owner of Out of the Fire in Easton; Suzanne Pittenger-Slear, president of Environmental Concern in St. Michaels; Aida Leisure, owner of DBS Jewelers (and Silver Linings) in St. Michaels; Paige Bethke, director of economic development for Talbot County and Jennifer Heyd Wharton and Laura Era, co-owners of Troika Gallery in Easton.

The President of NEWWW, Ms. Emel EFE GÖKSEL, a partner attorney with a large law firm in Istanbul, Turkey said, “This networking meeting is the time that allows our members to meet the core mission of our organization, which is to maximize women’s contributions to the global economy, organize meetings with face to face exchange of information and to increase knowledge and sharing experiences.”

Area NEWWW members and co-hosts were Mary Ann Henker, president of The Henker Group and Susan Chaires, attorney-at-law of Chaires & Associates in Washington, D.C
