Carpe Diem Arts Presents Karim Nagi in “ARABIQA! Drums and Dances from the Arab World.”
Join Egyptian-American Karim Nagi on a fascinating musical journey through the rich traditions of Arab and Muslim culture. The event will take place at Talbot County Senior Center on April 25, 2017, 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Karim engages his audiences with humor, stories, and invites participation as he enlightens us about a real world beyond the headlines. He tours internationally and has recorded music for artists as diverse as Alicia Keys and The Urban Griot Project. His Arabiqa program seeks to raise appreciation of Arabic culture through music and arts instead of religion and politics.
This program is made possible by the generous support of the Talbot County Arts Council with revenues provided by the Maryland State Arts Council, and by the Mid-Shore Community Foundation (MSCF), Dock Street Foundation, Brookletts Place, the Artistic Insights Fund, and by individual contributions to the Carpe Diem Arts Outreach Fund/MSCF.
The monthly 45-minute performance is FREE and open to the public. Lunch is available at 12 noon with advance reservations for $2.75. RSVP: 410-822-2869 / [email protected]
