Women interested in learning the basics of woodworking are invited to participate in a workshop designed just for them.
From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17 and 24, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, MD is offering a basic woodworking class for women in its boat shop. Led by women shipwrights, the two-day workshop will teach women the foundational skills and techniques of carpentry, as well as an introduction to a variety of woodworking tools.
Participants must be 16 years of age or older, unless accompanied by an adult. No experience is necessary, with class size limited and pre-registration needed. The cost for the two-day workshop is $100 for CBMM members, or $120 for non-members. To register, contact Boatyard Program Manager Jenn Kuhn at 410-745-4980 or [email protected].
Jenn was recently featured in the Talbot Spy. Check it out here.
