On Thursday, April 13, 2017, at 12 noon, Dr. Kelly Griffith, Superintendent of Talbot County Public Schools (TCPS), will be the guest speaker at the Brown Bag luncheon program at the Easton Branch of the Talbot County Free Library. Dr. Griffith will present data and information about school demographics and current issues facing our school system.
Dr. Griffith began her career in Delaware but started in TCPS as a teacher in 1988. She has served as an assistant principal, principal of Chapel District, Easton Elementary, Easton Middle, and Easton High Schools, Director of Student Programs and School Improvement, Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, before being appointed as the Interim Superintendent in 2013. She was officially appointed TCPS Superintendent in 2014 after a national search was conducted. Dr. Griffith has also been involved in numerous educational and professional associations, across the state and nationally.
In addition to her very important role as school superintendent, Dr. Griffith is actively involved in community organizations including Easton Rotary, the Talbot Family Network, Talbot County Chamber of Commerce, the Work-Force Housing Commission, Optimist Club, and Wheels on Meals, as well as Teacher of Junior Achievement.
Dr. Griffith lives in Wye Mills with her husband Barry. They have three grown sons: Jake, Brady and Wyatt.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Talbot County Free Library and is free and open to the public. Patrons are invited to bring their lunch. Desserts and beverages will be served. Please note: This is a change from the usual Brown Bag lunch date.
