For this holiday season, Easton Choral Arts will present The Splendor of Christmas, a festive and awe inspiring musical journey of choral works, that will appeal to all ages and musical tastes. ECAS director, Wes Lockfaw, has chosen a tapestry of sounds, from around the world. Joining the chorus will be guest artists, soprano Georgiann Gibson and tenor, Patrick Mason, the Bells of the Bay, the Mid-Shore’s premier community handbell ensemble, a full orchestra and organ. The Splendor of Christmas conjures up musical images from the light hearted familiar tunes of a sleigh ride to the majestic sounds of European cathedrals. Robin’s Nest Garden Center is transforming the stage into a winter wonderland.
Highlighting the program will be a lovely and heartwarming rendition of “Heaven’s Lamb,” a poignant duet for soprano and tenor sung by Georgiann and Patrick. The song, composed by Dan Goeller, contemplates what Mary and Joseph might have been thinking as they witnessed Christ’s birth. The lushly orchestrated accompaniment makes this piece a centerpiece of the concert.
