With a number of pressing issues facing Talbot County in this election year, the current primary race (June 24) for the Talbot County Council has turned into a thoughtful and rather interesting community conversation about the county’s problems and future. The seven candidates running (six Republicans and one Democrat) have turned their attention on such challenging concerns as the increase in drug use, state funding mandates for public education, the health of the Bay, county bureaucracy and economic development.
The Spy spent time with each candidate over the last two weeks to talk about their background, motivations for running, and how they assess Talbot County’s needs for the next four years.
