Area shoppers and connoisseurs of fine crafts look forward to Evergreen Easton’s “Handmade from the Heart” every December. Evergreen will celebrate its 16th year of promoting local artists’ work with a day and a half of gorgeous art and scrumptious home-baked treats. The event kicks off on Friday, December 2th from 5:00-8:00pm and continues through Saturday, December 3rd from 10:00am-4:00pm. Refreshments and a cash wine bar including mulled wine and hot cider will be available on Friday night with an acoustic set performed by local band Mule Train while shoppers browse the show. On Saturday, a selection of hand-baked goods will be for sale in addition to the artisans’ offerings.
This year’s Handmade will showcase the work of 14 local craftspeople, including a jewelry designer, ceramicist, toy-maker, basket-weaver, and wood-turner. There will be wreathes and greens available for sale outside to help you ready for the holidays! Babies and centenarians alike (and everyone in between) will be tickled by the selection. All featured artisans live locally and will be on hand to share information about their work.
Something beautiful happens when you support local artists and craftspeople–you strengthen your community and ensure that creative people continue to look to the Eastern Shore as a healthy and desirable area. Keeping money in our community closes a loop, adds vibrancy, and strengthens bonds.
