Congresswoman Donna Edwards (MD-4) stopped by Spy headquarters in Easton before her appearance before the Talbot County Democratic Women’s Club on Sunday afternoon to talk about her candidacy for the United States Senate seat being vacated by Senator Barbara Mikulski in 2016.
Edwards has been in the House of Representatives since June of 2008 when she won a special election in the 4th Congressional District. Prior to entering politics, she co-founded and served as the first executive director of the National Network to End Domestic Violence, an advocacy and legal support group for battered women.
In her interview with the Spy, she talks about her decision to run, some of her priorities if she is elected, and some of the differences she has with her primary opponent, Maryland Congressman Chris van Hollen (MD-8)
