Free prostate screenings will be offered on Tuesday evening, September 26, 2017, at UM Shore Medical Pavilion in Easton, 490 Cadmus Lane.
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), except for skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men, and it is the second most common cause of death from cancer among white, African American and Hispanic men.The rate of prostate cancer in most Maryland counties and Delaware ranks relatively high compared to neighboring states.
This screening opportunity, set for 5 to 8 p.m., is offered by UM Shore Regional Health and UM Community Medical Group – Urology providers R. Duane Cespedes, MD; John Foley, MD; John Knud-Hansen, MD-FACS; Andrew Riggin, MD; and Christopher Runz, DO.
Interested individuals should ask their health care providers if screening is recommended for them. If so, advance registration is required and can be accomplished by calling the Cancer Center at UM Shore Regional Health, 410-820-6800.
