Presented by the Avalon Foundation and in partnership with the World Artists’ Experiences (WAE) & the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, this free event is for all ages and open to the public on February 16.
Timed to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Sheep, festivities will feature art exhibits, stage performances, and hands-on activities representing many facets of Chinese life. Stage performances will include shadow and hand puppets from Shaanxi China, followed by Chinese craft activities, such as: paper cutters, fabric makers, calabashes, puppet makers, and calligraphers. There will also be Chinese language lessons, a photographic exhibit, and a few surprises.
The Avalon is always looking for community members to be a part of the Ambassador Team for our WAE performances and if you are interested in welcoming, feeding, and/or hosting the many groups who visit Easton, MD from around the world, please let them know.
