Moored a watercolor by Sandy AlankoIf you have never painted with watercolors before, this workshop is for you.  Students will learn how to apply and control the watercolor medium through practice exercises and creating several small paintings.  Techniques include how to make a graduated wash, how to preserve whites, how to lift paint and correct mistakes. The second day will include additional free time for students to create paintings and receive personal one-on-one help with the instructor.

Leave with your own watercolor set, several small paintings, and the confidence to keep going with the medium.  Learn that you can do it!

Sandy Alanko has a masters degree in art and has taught for over thirty years.  She has won numerous awards for her artwork, including a “Judges Award of Excellence” for the Local Color segment of Plein Air Easton and has twice won the “Martha Hudson Award for Excellence in Watercolor”
