In the heat of summer, come cool off with a visit to Candleberry Gallery at 210 S. Talbot Street in St. Michaels. July is full of local Plein Air events, and our special exhibition upstairs features the Plein Air Painters of the Chesapeake Bay. This talented group will share their paintings of local land and water scenes.
The Plein Air Painters of the Chesapeake Bay (PAPCB) started in April 2014 when Jackie Pfaff-Pratt, Elaine Shortall, Kate Quinn and Diane DuBois Mullaly began painting outdoors together on Tuesdays. This group came into being after the long established Plein Air Painters of the Eastern Shore (PAPES) stopped organizing weekly paint outs. The Plein Air Painters of the Chesapeake Bay now has over 40 members and paints together every Tuesday, April through October, at Mid-Shore farms, private estates, villages and parks. Membership in PAPCB is free, and all mediums and skill levels are welcome. For more info and painting locations, please email Kate Quinn, [email protected] or Diane DuBois Mullaly, [email protected].
