The Maryland Pastel Society chose the A.M. Gravely Gallery in St. Michaels to host their exhibit, “Compelling Colors”. The exhibit will run from May 4 to May 28.
On Saturday May 12, the Gallery will host a reception from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and the reception is free and open to the public. The A. M. Gallery is located at 408 S. Talbot Street in St. Michaels.
The exhibit is juried by artist John Morrell. Mr. Morrell is an Associate Professor of Painting at George Washington University. He was also the Chair of the Art and Art History department at Georgetown and George Washington Universities. His work is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
The Maryland Pastel Society was founded in 1977 and is a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion and development of professional, original works of art in the medium of soft pastels and to the creative and technical development of its members.
