On Monday, January 16, Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy (MRC) and Bay Imprint teamed up for this year’s Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Day of Service. Taking place each year on the third Monday in January, the MLK Day of Service is observed as a national day of service – a “day on, not a day off.” The MLK Day of Service is a part of United We Serve, a national call to service initiative. In conjunction with the Adopt-A- Highway program, MRC and Bay Imprint picked up trash, starting at the corner of Oxford Road all the way down to Cooke’s Hope, crossing the South Fork of the Tred Avon. Even though it’s a dirty job, there is instant gratification knowing that all the trash picked up is no longer going into local waterways. Altogether, MRC and Bay Imprint picked up five very full bags of trash. Thank you for all of your support of making your local rivers cleaner and healthier.
