Easton resident Paul Barents was one of the subjects covered in a Washington Post special report on Vietnam War veterans fifty years after their service. Barents, 72, was a second lieutenant when he was injured in a friendly-fire incident. His legs had been shattered, and would later be amputated. And yet, as the Post’s Michael Ruane notes, Paul has moved beyond the lifelong physical scars from that war to enjoy successful and productive live.
