This week’s feature is a property listed for $765,000 in Sherwood.
Sherwood is the village next to mine and I have often taken guests there to watch the incredible sunsets at Lowe’s Wharf. Its village core has many charming historic houses but there are also several newer houses like this contemporary design on Tilghman Island Rd. The plan is a “coastal” layout with the bedrooms and baths on the main floor and the main living areas on the second floor.
The first floor also has a galley kitchen and deck for watching the sunsets. I loved the second floor great room that spans across the rear of the house for expansive views of Back Creek and the Chesapeake Bay. The large room is divided into a sitting area, dining area and a gourmet kitchen ready for entertaining. This avid reader was pleased to see there was also an alcove with bookcases and comfortable chairs for settling in with a book. The third floor bonus room had skylights for stargazing and an open plan to accommodate a range of activities.
The detached garage is oversized to contain a workshop on the ground floor. The second floor with its dormer windows and gable end windows is perfect for a home office or artist studio.
