Robert Murray of the SMFD will be the guest speaker for the Brown Bag Lunch on Monday, Nov 7, 2011 at noon. The lunch is sponsored by the Friends of the library and will be held at the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library.
Mr. Murray will speak about the past and current St. Michaels Fire Department.” The Department has served the town of St. Michaels and Talbot County for 110 years. It has evolved from a hand drawn hose cart to a modern fully equipped Emergency Services provider, covering 120 square miles of land area and 130 square mile of coast line and adjoining waters. Robert L. Murray grew up in St. Michael, his father was the Chief of the SMFD and his Mother was a member of the SMFD Ladies Auxiliary. His is currently the Treasurer and Historian of the SMFD and is an Active Engineer, Firefighter and EMT”.
