With 21st Century digital clocks now on walls, smartphones and tablets, it’s hard not to assume that the business of time is now a matter of binary management than craftsmanship. But that’s clearly not the case, says Scott McCash, owner of McCash Clock Company in Easton. In fact, business in booming. Go figure…
In his Spy interview, Scott talks about the special world of clock repair and the increased demand for skilled craftspeople to not only fix old time pieces but in most cases, build replacement parts by hand. He also shares his passion for the micro-world of clock technology and his everlasting respect for fellow clockmakers. He also expresses his hope that his son, who is now apprenticing with him, will join the firm so he can change the name to McCash and Son.
