Friends, students, former students and colleagues gathered at Hotchkiss Recital Hall at the Gibson Center Saturday to join Professor Garry Clarke conduct his last concert before his official retirement from Washington College this month. After the performance, former student and old friend Peter Boggs announced the creation of a special college endowment in Mr. Clarke’s honor as well as a oil portrait to be hung just outside the recital hall.
With limited rehearsal time, the thirty plus members of the reunion choir had no problem finding their voices, including a favorite of Dr. Clarke’s, J.S. Bach’s In dulci jubilo.
