The St. Michaels Art League is excited to announce a unique opportunity for people to enjoy and potentially own original artwork and prints from the multi-talented SMAL member artists. Twice, the St. Michaels Art League attempted to hold its annual Art Show and Sale, traditionally held on Labor Day weekend. Twice, hurricanes got in the way and both the Labor Day weekend art show and the rescheduled Columbus Day weekend art show had to be cancelled, the latter due to the collapsing of all the tents due to high winds.
Through the extraordinary generosity of Heidi Clark and Patricia Spitaleri of the Clark Gallery of Fine Art, St. Michaels MD who offered their space, the St. Michaels Art League will be holding a special Art Show and Sale during the “Christmas in St. Michaels” weekend of December 9-11, 2016. In keeping with the holiday spirit, this generous offer to host the St. Michaels Art League will permit the approximately 30 artist participants in both of the cancelled shows to exhibit their paintings throughout this 3 day celebration. Work to be exhibited will include watercolor, oil, pastel and acrylic paintings of scenes, still life, abstracts, and landscapes painted mostly from various Eastern Shore locales.
Hours for the St. Michaels Art League “Christmas in St. Michaels” Art Show and Sale are Friday, December 9 from 10am -4:30pm, Saturday, December 10 from 10am -7pm, and Sunday, December 11 from 9:30 am– 4:30pm. Location is the Clark Gallery of Fine Art, 308 S. Talbot Street, St. Michaels MD. For additional information contact either Donna Finley at 410-822-3017 or George Hamilton at 410-745-3922.
St. Michaels Art League is supported in part by the Talbot County Arts Council with revenue from the Maryland State Council of the Arts.
