One of the oldest towns in Maryland, beautiful Oxford “marks the year 1683 as it’s official founding, for in that year Oxford was first named by the Maryland General Assembly as a seaport and was laid out as a town.” But it existed as a small town 20 years before that! Enjoy comparing now and then! Photo from the Talbot Historical Society’s H. Robins Hollyday Collection. Facts: website oxfordmd.net.
