The Talbot County Visual Arts Center is having a 3-dimensional art show September 2013, entitled “The 3rd Dimension”. This will coincide with the celebration of TCVAC’s grand opening of their new art center. “This exhibit will be a very important art show for the new location of our Arts Center. We want to invite ALL artists who have taken their art to a 3rd dimension to apply to the show!” commented President Jacquelyn Pfaff-Pratt.
The criteria for this show is simple: the work is to be 3-Dimensional, i.e., not a painting, photograph or a drawing, unless it is a part of a 3-D structure. But it could be a relief piece that hangs on the wall or an object of art on a stand or in a case. 3-D can be anything from a piece of jewelry, to a ceramic pot, to a wall hanging, weaving, found art objects, etc. Truly the sky is the limit, as long as you provide a way for the item to be hung or displayed easily by the set-up committee.
There is a $15 entry fee for each artist and you may exhibit 3 pieces of art. You don’t have to be a member of TCVAC (although they would love to have you, as their Membership Drive is currently underway and it’s only $35/year). Check out their website www.talbot-art-center.org for more of their upcoming events and membership form.
Drop off your art September 3rd Tuesday from 3-5pm at The Arts Center located at 10 S. Hanson Street in the Easton Biz and Artz Center. If you are interested in participating in this show and have questions, please contact Jacquelyn Pfaff-Pratt at [email protected], or by calling 443-385-0411.
The show will open on September 7th, Saturday, with the “Grand Opening of the New Art Center Reception” from 5-7 pm. The exhibit will run through the month of September, closing on September 28th. All art will then be ready for pick up on Monday, September 30th from 3-5 pm.
