This year’s film festival focuses on films that speak to the environmental concerns and celebration of our planet. “Films featured at Wild and Scenic give people a sense of place,” says Tour Manager, Lori Van Laanen. “In our busy lives, its easy to get disconnected from our role in the global ecosystem. When we realize that the change we need in this world begins with us we can start making a difference.”
Our 5th Annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival is on Friday, November 21, 2014, hosted by Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy (MRC) and held at the Avalon Theatre in Easton MD.
The adult program begins at 6 pm, with films beginning at 7 pm. The $50 ticket price includes local food, wine and beer, unique silent auction and a documentary film program lasting approximately one hour.
The festival presents an array of ten professionally-made environmental short films. From Everest to the Appalachian Mountains, to the marshlands of Iraq and finally to our local rivers, this year’s films will leave you with a sense of awe for our natural environment and inspire you to take action.
Tickets for the Wild and Scenic Film Festival are available through the Avalon Theatre box office at https://tickets.avalontheatre.com or 410.822.7299.
Proceeds from the film festival will benefit MRC programs. MRC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration, protection, and celebration of the waterways that comprise the Choptank River watershed, Eastern Bay, and the Miles and Wye Rivers. The organization serves as an advocate for the health of these tributaries and the living resources they support.
