Annapolis, Maryland (May 28, 2012) – The Maryland Natural Resources Police continue the search for missing boaters from two separate fatal boating accidents. The search for a missing boater who jumped from a vessel to go swimming in the Chesapeake Bay, ½ mile west of Howell Point, Betterton, Kent County is continuing. Brandon M. Greene, 21 from Edgewood, Md jumped from a drifting vessel and did not reappear on the surface after entering the water.
The second fatal boating accident occurred at 11:00 pm on Sunday night when a 21 foot Boston Whaler struck the south jetty at Kent Narrows, Grasonville, Queen Anne County. One person was thrown from the vessel and is currently missing. Two of the other occupants were taken to Shock Trauma for serious injuries. The names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Maryland Natural Resources Police Special Operations Division is continuing the investigation into both of the boating accidents.
