Award-winning writer Jim Duffy will be the Lunch& Learn speaker at the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library on Monday, May 7, 2018 at noon. Mr. Duffy will discuss the surprises and life lessons he’s come across while roaming the Eastern Shore and studying its history to put together his two recent books, Eastern Shore Road Trips: 27 One-Day Adventures on Delmarva (2016) and Tubman Travels: 32 Underground Railroad Journeys on Delmarva (2017). Both books offer a mix of travel and history focused on the people and places of the Eastern Shore and Southern Delaware. Both landed atop best-seller lists in regional travel and history upon their release.
A Cambridge resident, Jim Duffy is the founder of Secrets of the Eastern Shore, a local business built in partnership with his wife, the photographer Jill Jasuta that celebrates the stories and sites of the region in words, pictures, and products. Before launching Secrets in 2015, Duffy spent three decades working as a writer and editor for various publications in Chicago, Baltimore, and Annapolis. The Friends of the Library are sponsors of the speaker series and everyone is invited to bring their lunch or a snack and enjoy coffee and dessert provided by the library.
