This year’s Annual Academy Art Museum Craft Show, to be held October 17, 18, and 19, 2014 in Easton, MD, has created a unique partnership with area businesses. The Craft Show is the most prestigious juried craft show on the Eastern Shore with 60 juried exhibitors, including established artists, returning favorites from years past, and more than 25 artists new to the Show.
Several area businesses, organizations, individuals, and even a National Financial Company are partnering with the show by sponsoring exhibitors this year. These businesses include: Ameriprise Financial, Inc., Attraction Magazine, Ben Franklin, David J. Marks, Deep Blue Sea, Silver Lining, Mark Beck Associates – Architects, The Henker Group, Carla Massoni @MASSONI ART, Art @Chestertown, Heathers Hair Salon, Complete Systems, Out of the Fire, Justines Ice Cream, Talbot Oriental Rugs, La De Da, Easton Eye Care, Easton Utilities, Dwellings and Design, Solid Tops, Total Home Performance, Baywater Animal Rescue, Mercedes of Annapolis, Natural Choice Landscape, Hearthstone Health and Fitness, Pampered Pets, Cottingham Farm, and Shearer the Jeweler. Organizations supporting the event include CASA, SMASH, and the Academy For Life Long Learning. Individuals supporting the event include Henry and Judy Stansbury, Carolyn Williams, Ellen and Dick Bodorff, Robert Lonergan, Bill Davenport and Bruce Wiltsie, Martha and Dave Tuthill, and Paul and Holly Fine.
Tickets are on sale now for The Craft Show Preview Party which will be held on Friday evening, October 17th, from 6 – 9 p.m. The party will feature music, food stations and libations located throughout the show. Awards for Best Body of Work and Best Single Piece of Work will be presented at the party. New this year, a Visionary Award, will be presented to an artist who has risen to the top of their craft in design and innovation. The single ticket price for the evening is $100 per person and allows the ticket holder unlimited re-entry to the show on Saturday and Sunday and includes one raffle ticket for an extraordinary art work. Preview Party Patrons will pay $500 for four tickets to the Preview Party, unlimited access to the show, four raffle tickets, and grateful acknowledgement in the show catalog. The evening is a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with artists, visit with friends, enjoy great food, and shop.
The hours for the Craft Show are Saturday, October 18 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, October 19, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Artist Lectures will be given on Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m. Daily admission to the Craft Show is $10 per person. The Craft Show is one of two major fundraisers for the Museum and an easy way to support its many community-based exhibitions, programs, and educational opportunities for all ages.
