The Railroad Station of Royal Oak pictured here was established near the railroad’s crossing of Oak Creek where it empties into the Miles River. The Station was actually a mile or more from the town of Royal Oak, Maryland at a place now called Newcomb, Maryland. Newcomb was named after Robert Newcome who owned property near there and died in 1790! Facts: “ Rails Along the Chesapeake” by John C. Hayman 1979.
