Last call for classic Mustang drawing Oct. 23 in St. Michaels

The Rotary Club of St. Michaels is nearing the Oct. 23 drawing date for its 23^rd Biennial Classic Mustang Raffle.

The winning ticket for the 1966 convertible Mustang will be pulled from a bin at the corner of Railroad and Talbot streets in St Michaels on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at noon, weather permitting. St. Michaels Police Department Chief Jeffery Oswald will draw the winning ticket. The public is invited to attend.

Proceeds from the Mustang raffle will fund scholarships for ten to twelve St. Michaels High School seniors over the next two years. Candidates are judged on their passion for their future field of study, whether academic or vocational.

The raffle prize is a choice of the fully restored Wimbledon White Mustang or the $35,000 cash option. The first St. Michaels Classic Mustang Raffle was held in 1980. Every winner in past years has chosen the classic Mustang, instead of the cash prize.

Fewer than 5,000 tickets have been sold, therefore many remain available. Tickets are available online at rotarystm.org, or during weekends at the corner of Talbot and Railroad in St. Michaels.
