There was a time when Rep. Andy Harris would brag about being Co-Chair of the Ukrainian Caucus in Congress.
There was a time, too, many times in fact, when Harris would wax poetic about his mother, describing her as an “Ukrainian immigrant who fled Soviet tyranny.”
There was a time when Harris supported providing lethal weapons to Ukraine, continuing financial aid to Ukraine, and granting Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to all Ukrainian citizens in the US.
That time has passed.
Today Harris supports removing TPS from everyone—to please Donald Trump.
Today Harris questions providing any further aid to Ukraine—to please Donald Trump.
Today Harris supports rewarding the Russian invasion by giving Putin Ukrainian land—to please Donald Trump.
Today Harris betrays his mother by acquiescing to the very Russian tyranny she fled—all to please Donald Trump.
Harris is a moral coward, and the people of Maryland’s First District deserve better.
Now is the time for Harris to try pleasing the people of his district rather than pleasing Donald Trump.

I have never voted for ‘Handgun Andy’ and never will – I campaign for anyone who runs against him. He simply hangs on, does nothing – simply to get a paycheck. His time has long passed. Time for him to resign and while at it, take Trump, Vance and Musk with him.
There was a time when Andy Harris was a real human being. That time has apparently passed. I can understand that that the majority of voter in his Congressional district a inclined to vote (conservative) Republican, but Trump is not a conservative, by any definition, and Andy is afraid, apparently, of speaking out or voting against him.
Couldn’t agree more. Harris, in line with so many Republicans in Congress, has abandoned his principles and his responsibilities to critically evaluate Presidential programs, even when that President is from his own party.
Harris should just stop going to Congress and leave behind his rubber stamp that waits approval of whatever his cult leader (Trump) demands. Then voters should oust him in 2026.

Now he doesn’t even respond with a form letter. There was a time when he vowed to only serve 6 years.how quickly promises are broken.

Great letter! Andy is an embarrassment to everyone who cherishes our democracy, period. He will sell out anyone, including his own mother.
I had forgotten that Andy Harris was co-chair of the Ukrainian Caucus. Thanks for pointing that out. But I’m not surprised he’s caved to Orange Man. He supports the tariffs and cuts in foreign aid (including food) that will hurt the farmers here on the Eastern Shore. And he doesn’t stand up to the executive branch trying to take more power over spending from the legislative branch. We need someone who will fight for us and democracy, not someone who’s afraid of losing power (which he won’t have if the president makes acts of Congress moot).

This letter is so true the only congressman that have a spine are women.
Folks, we NEED to mount a strong effort to unseat this sycophant from office. He is a known and notorious climate science denier in a district that includes a county that is FAST losing it’s land mass to sea level rise and erosion.
His obseqiousness to the current president who I shall not ever name verbally or in print again….is as much an embarrassment as the president’s similar obsequiousness to Vladimir Putin. The Oval Office debacle on February 28 was the most embarrassing event that I can recall. As a veteran with almost 22 years in service…I was sickened to think that my service beginning at the tail end of the Cold War, and the service of millions who have served since 1945 was cast aside in favor of an unwritten alliance with our primary international adversary over that span.
EVERY seat in Congress and certainly the White House MUST BE CONTESTED. We must cast out these myopic imbeciles before we are all ruined.
Excellent comments. Concerning the Cold War, I served as an intelligence analyst for the Air Force during the Viet Nam era, and it pains me greatly to see so many “Americans” siding with our enemies now.
