The Market at Dover Station is filled with inspiration this August! Brimming with unique opportunities to shop and create, the goods are refreshed, activities are engaging, and the fine art beckons.
In the Market’s Gallery at Dover Station, the Botanical Art League of the Eastern Shore, a group of local and regional artists, continues their beautiful exhibit of member’s works viewable through August.
As a special guest, fine artist Karine Dulyan from Armenia offers an engaging selection of watercolor and mixed media works. With her training as an architect and urban designer, Dulyan builds a strong foundation for her expressive cityscapes, with both originals and prints available. A juxtaposition of innovative design and a sophisticated sense of color creates an appealing energy that draws the viewer into her work.

Stone sculptor Richard Arnold lives in Easton, Maryland, and hand carves marble and other types of stone into soft flowing forms of sailboats, animals, birds and sea creatures. He also does letter cutting in slate and marble.
Joan Hoge-North owns The Mercantile in Easton, a woman’s boutique offering Western-Boho clothing, jewelry, footwear and gifts. “I was thrilled to mark my third anniversary by expanding into the Market at Dover Station where I will feature fan favorites and new brands. My goal is to create joy and confidence for my customers and do good for the world. I seek out smaller makers, women-owned companies and environmentally conscientious brands that make a concerted effort to care for their employees and give back to the community. I carry inclusive sizing and have a variety of prices, so there’s something for everyone.”
Oil painters Patti Lucas Hopkins and Lynne Davis are good friends who share a space at The Market where their works complement each other. Hopkins lives in Cambridge, Maryland and says, “Maryland’s Eastern Shore has been my home all my life. I take inspiration from the expansive landscapes, the changing seasons, the cycle of crops, migrations, and human activities such as working the water, farming, sailing and gardening.” She often paints in plein air and captures the light as it moves across the land that she loves. Davis, of Easton, Maryland, grew up in Cambridge and has a background as a graphic designer. Her approach to studio painting harks back to classical methods, created with layer upon thin layer of paint. “I am inspired by how light plays on nature and brings things to life,” says Davis.
As a dedicated husband and wife team, Tom and Ashley Wright of Easton, Maryland, created Wright Pottery Co. where they specialize in crafting beautiful, high-quality ceramic pieces that blend functionality with artistry. Their commitment to the outstanding workmanship found in their products, made with intention and designed to last, ensures that every piece will serve its intended purpose and enhance the aesthetic of their patrons’ homes.
Captain Ron Fortucci of Denton, Maryland, grew up on the New England coast and has been building, restoring and sailing boats all his life. He began assembling plastic boat model kits when he was eight and started woodworking as a teenager. The two hobbies eventually became his career as a classic boat builder and restorer, and 1/2 hull model maker. He has been commissioned to make models for museums, fish markets and restaurants, and will make models of clients’ personal boats.
The Market also hosts classes and activities including a book club, yoga classes, Zentangle, needle felting, pottery making, photography, woodworking, jewelry and art classes for kids and adults. Coming very soon in phase II is a café, and phase III a future brewery.
Since it opened on November 30, 2024, The Market at Dover Station has established itself as an upscale regional hub showcasing the work of fine artists, glass, pottery and jewelry artisans, a selection of antique and vintage goods, fresh flowers and fine chocolates, handmade balms and lotions, and more.
