There was oyster ground between Tilghman and Poplar that hadn’t been opened for many years. Sometime between the 1970’ and 1980’ it was opened, boats from all over the bay came to work it. I am not saying that this is a picture from it but possibly something to look into maybe a picture of some of them. My father was patent tonging he had me get my license to go with him so he could tong my license limit. The first day I went we left the dock bout 4 am anchored just outside the marker so I could see the the city of boats that were harbored from the narrows to any dock on the east side of the island with the overflow anchored in the river parade out to the ground. Absolutely amazing sight to see which will never be repeated I am sad to say.
