A special thanks to Dwight Shores for emailing the Talbot Historical Society this image this past year. Dwight’s Great Uncle Marion Buck Sharp owned the original Oak Hill Diner pictured, which was located on Creamery Lane and North Washington Street in the 1940’s! Dwight found this picture in his Mother’s basement! Besides Dwight’s Great Uncle, his Father Jack Shores, Mother Peggy Mullikin Shores, Grandmother Madge Mullikin, and his Aunt Dolly Mullikin Bramble all worked at the Oak Hill Diner. A second Oak Hill Diner was later on Dover Street near the railroad tracks.
