This month, Things My Mother Taught Me comes to at the Oxford Community Center with a warm, funny, and deeply familiar story about family, growing up, and figuring it all out as adults. Told through moments both hilarious and heartfelt, the play brings you into the chaos and charm of moving day when Olivia and Gabe head to Chicago, only to have both sets of parents show up to “help.”
What follows is a generational look at love, change, and the quiet (and not-so-quiet) wisdom passed down from one generation to the next — and the lessons we learn along the way.
The Spy talked to actors Missy Barbcomb and Wes Williams about their roles as parents for what promises to a fun review of many a parent’s life as their children grow up.
