Each February, the Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival brought a unique energy to downtown Easton. For two days, the historic district was filled with hand-carved ice sculptures, live demonstrations, music, and a steady flow of people moving from block to block. Hosted by Discover Easton and Easton EDC, it was a simple idea done well — art in the streets, businesses engaged, and plenty of reasons to linger outside, even in February.
In this short video, one of our Spies walked the festival to capture it as it unfolded — the sculptors at work, families following the Fire Trail, fire pits glowing, musicians playing, and restaurants and shops leaning into the moment. It was a clear example of what happens when a town decides to make an event both accessible and genuinely fun.
