The Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra continues its season with a program that traces the arc of a single day through music, featuring works by Dobrinka Tabakova, Joseph Haydn, Susan Day, and Yukiko Nishimura.
Performed across three venues on the Eastern Shore and in Delaware, the program moves from the first light of morning through the energy of the afternoon and into the stillness of night. The repertoire includes Dawn, Haydn’s Symphony No. 6 “Morning”, Symphony No. 7 “Afternoon”, and Symphony No. 8 “Night”, as well as Afternoon Soliloquy and Nightfall.
Together, these works create a cohesive musical narrative, pairing Haydn’s vivid and characterful symphonies with contemporary reflections on light, time, and atmosphere. The program highlights the orchestra’s commitment to blending classical masterworks with music of today, offering audiences both familiarity and discovery.
Concerts will take place on Thursday, April 9 at 7:30 PM at the Easton Church of God; Saturday, April 11 at 3:00 PM at Epworth United Methodist Church; and Sunday, April 12 at 3:00 PM at the Community Church.
