My wife and I recently completed the 2026 Community Police Academy that was conducted by the Easton Police Department. The eight weekly sessions included information about the various aspects and functions of policing in Easton, including: S.W.A.T. and crisis negotiation; patrol operations; Drone and K9 units; search and seizure; use of force; criminal investigation; evidence collection; emergency response, corrections, etc.
We had the opportunity to interact with many of the department’s command staff and patrol officers and gained a greater appreciation of their dedication and enthusiasm. Some of the participants even took advantage of “ride alongs” to experience some the daily duties and challenges of the patrol officers.
Each session was very informative and incredibly interesting. At the end of each session my wife and I were amazed by the technical proficiency, professionalism, and legal awareness of our local police officers. We now have a much better understanding of the the mission, operation, and challenges of the Easton Police Department. We’re indeed fortunate to live in a community that is protected by such dedicated and professional law enforcement professionals.
