Glints of Promise?
God is difficult
Existence complex, obscure
Written first by people long ago
Often indecipherable
Is that all there is, we ask
Is there more
Something traceable—beyond theories
Maybe, something like grace
Lower case gods? What do they promise?
Deliver? Sustain?
The worship begins, is it escapable?
Is there lower case grace? Or is, “Amazing Grace” on offer?
Bliss?
I watch the daffodils and tulips
Painted long ago.
They survive, revive and remind,
Perhaps resurrection
Where do the yellows begin?
The elegant design—is it random?
Enduring, year after year
Thank God for the Spring—
glints of sunlight and promise!
