As spring returns to Maryland’s Eastern Shore, so does one of Easton’s most anticipated and downright fun community gatherings, the Avalon Foundation’s Multicultural Festival, which takes place at Idlewild Park this coming Saturday. It’s a day that brings people together through music, food, art, and shared experience, transforming Idlewild Park into a lively celebration of cultures from around the world. More than just a festival, it’s a reflection of the region itself—diverse, creative, and deeply connected.
In our Spy chat, we sit down with Avalon’s Jess Ballis and Victoria Gomez Lozano from the Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center to talk about what makes this event so special. From the performances and family activities to the community partnerships behind it, they offer a closer look at how the festival comes together and why it continues to matter to so many people across the Mid-Shore.
