Full glasses and funds were raised at Momma Maria’s Mediterranean Bistro during the Trappe Volunteer Fire Company’s guest bartending event. Held on Wednesday, May 27, the evening was part of TVFC’s fundraising campaign for its new firehouse. It ended with $1,787 in donations and a $5,000 pledge.
Chief Nick Newman, member Cheryl Lewis, member Craig McCracken, and member Justin Firth represented the fire company. Guests enjoyed specialty cocktails – Fireman Sours and Fireball Smashes – cuisine from Momma Maria’s, and a 50/50 raffle.
Lewis spoke to the public about TVFC’s mission, the progress on the new firehouse’s fundraising campaign, and how the public can support it. She stood by a display table with photographs of the fire company’s history and plans for the new firehouse.
“It was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to talk to the public, both locally and from the surrounding areas,” Lewis said. “A lot of people were interested in our history & our story.”
