Join us for two days of riding, celebration, and community at our annual spring horse show. Our therapeutic riders will take center stage, showcasing the progress they’ve made throughout the season and earning medals — all while their families and neighbors cheer them on. This year we’re expanding the event into a full festival experience, with vendor booths, games, and activities for all ages. Bring your friends, and let’s fill the farm with cheers, high-fives, and all the good vibes for the Jaime Lee Hutchison Memorial 2026 Horse Show & Festival at Timber Grove Farm 6292 Statum Road in Preston, Maryland. Celebrate two joyful days honoring the spirit of Jaime Lee Hutchison, one of our beloved riders whose love for horses, riding, and friendly competition continues to inspire this event.
We’ll be cheering on our incredible riders as they compete for medals both days, showing off the skills and confidence they’ve built throughout our riding sessions. Around the arenas, expect a lively festival atmosphere–silent auction, games, tasty food, and a turn on “Bucky,” our life-like mechanical horse—for a weekend that’s equal parts celebration and community support. Everyone is encouraged to attend, clap loudly, and make our riders feel like the champions they are.
The benefits of horseback riding are as numerous as the types of people and conditions served. Because horseback riding gently and rhythmically moves the rider’s body in a manner similar to a human gait, riders with physical limitations often show improvement in flexibility, balance and muscle strength. For individuals with cognitive or emotional challenges, the unique relationship formed with the horse can lead to increased confidence, patience and self-esteem. Sessions are led by a certified therapeutic riding instructor with the support of a horse leader and two side walkers to ensure the safety of the rider and horse. Sessions are generally scheduled Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Each session relies on volunteers giving generously of their time to make this program possible.
Sponsorships are the backbone of this event and directly support financial assistance for our clients and quality care for our horses. All proceeds fund our programs, special purchases, and the facilities that make our work possible.Sponsors receive recognition through email newsletters, social media, our website, local press coverage, and on-site signage the day of the event. This event is named in memory of Jaime Lee Hutchison, a cherished Positive Strides rider who had a deep love of horses and horse shows. Jaime passed from colon cancer in her early thirties. Her memory inspires everything we do for the children and adults we serve across Caroline, Dorchester, Queen Anne, Talbot, and surrounding counties. The show hours are 10-2 Saturday and Sunday.
