The Town of Easton has launched a new interactive webpage to make it easier for residents and visitors to participate in the Town’s ongoing Complete Streets initiative.
Complete Streets is a transportation planning and engineering approach that seeks to make streets safer and more accessible for everyone, including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, motorists, and people with disabilities.
The new webpage, available at engage.eastonmd.gov, provides background on the Complete Streets initiative, a project timeline, and several tools that allow the public to share concerns, identify problem areas, and suggest improvements.
Among the interactive features are:
Transportation and Safety Survey
The survey invites residents and other street users to share their experiences traveling throughout Easton and provide information about transportation and safety concerns.
Social Map Tool
An interactive map of Easton allows users to place labeled pins at specific locations where they have identified concerns or opportunities for improvement. Participants can also upvote or downvote comments, helping identify issues that may be shared by multiple members of the community.
Photo and Video Submissions
Users can upload photos or videos showing roadway conditions, safety concerns, or other transportation issues. The tool provides the Town with a direct visual reference to locations that may need attention.
“The Complete Streets project is founded on public input, and while public meetings require organization and are constrained by time, the Complete Streets page is available at any time and is easily accessible,” said Miguel Salinas, Easton’s Director of Planning and Zoning. “It gives us an incredible opportunity to receive detailed feedback and understand exactly what people would like to see improved on our roadways. This webpage launch and survey are just the beginning.”
Residents are encouraged to visit the Complete Streets page and participate in the Transportation and Safety Survey at engage.eastonmd.gov/complete-streets/.
