Get out and about this fall with Chesapeake Forum. Learn to play Mahjong, see the night sky through an artist’s eye, enjoy the fall colors on a steam engine trip to Frostburg, celebrate America’s 250th at the Museum of the American Revolution, create a beautiful woven basket and more this fall at Chesapeake Forum. Get a first hand look at some of the new classes while enjoying light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres on Tuesday, August 19th from 5:30-7 pm at Oxford Community Center. $8. Registration for classes begins on August 20th. The session kicks off on September 9th with one of the Forum’s most enduringly popular topics, the restoration of Poplar Island, with one in-room session and one field trip to the Island. The next day, September 10th, join Chef David Murray (Bluecatfish cooking) and Matt Dahl, owner of Eden Town Brewery, for Shore Bites and Brews combining eastern shore favorites with local beers. For history buffs, a guided walk of downtown Easton or a tour of Wye House, home to the same family for 12 generations, may be the thing.
