SUP, witches (and warlocks)! It’s time to dust off your costumes, decorate your boards, and start making some magic for the Second Annual Eastern Shore Witch Paddle.
Last year’s inaugural event raised an incredible $30,000 for breast cancer awareness and treatment, with more than 50 paddlers dressed as witches taking to Oak Creek and many more supporters joining the festive cause from shore.
This year, the Eastern Shore Witch Paddle is setting its sights even higher: $40,000, with funds supporting the treatment of breast cancer patients right here on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
As presenting sponsor, The Oaks Waterfront Hotel promises an even more enchanting evening of fun and fundraising on Thursday, October 15, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Gather Your Coven: Paddle Teams Take Center Stage
This year, the spotlight is on paddle teams. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to join the “Magic Chamber” by sponsoring a team, complete with an original team name, creative social media reel, and personal “paddle-on” song.
Throughout September and October, the teams leading the fundraising charge will be featured in local social, print, and radio media, helping raise both funds and awareness for this important cause.
On event night, teams will launch in order of funds raised, with The Oaks’ sponsored DJ announcing each participating business or organization and playing its chosen paddle-on song as the team takes to the water.
Already leading the fundraising charge are teams from Hearthstone Health & Fitness, Chuck Mangold Jr., and Soistman Family Dentistry.
Fun on the Water and Ashore
You don’t need a paddleboard to join the fun. The evening will offer plenty of food, festivities, and entertainment for spectators and paddlers alike, including pumpkin painting, face painting, ghost stories, and an after-launch party for adults.
This year’s fundraising goal will help provide the final funds needed to purchase specialized equipment for the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center, which serves patients from across the Eastern Shore.
Donations are encouraged but not required to attend. VIP pier access is available with a donations totaling $150 or more.
Paddle, Donate or Volunteer
Participants can reserve a spot to paddle, make a donation, or sign up to volunteer by visiting the UM Memorial Health Foundation Events Page and selecting the Eastern Shore Witch Paddle.

Mark the date- Thursday October 15th! Come join us- be a paddler, form or join a paddler team to be part of such a fun afternoon while helping to raise funds to enrich the ability of the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center in Easton to provide state of the art medical care to those of us and our friends and family who are diagnosed with breast cancer.
This event is so fun and meaningful. What better way to support breast cancer awareness and treatment on the eastern shore? In the month of October? Kudos to the Oaks for generously presenting this event and the many local businesses and individuals who have sponsored. Consider creating a team with a “paddle on” song or donating an item to the silent auction. Bring the family to watch! It’s quickly become an eastern shore tradition.
