Get ready to celebrate the Eastern Shore, enjoy great local music and have a little fun in the fields! Eastern Shore Land Conservancy (ESLC) will host its annual LandJam on Saturday, September 12, from 1–5 p.m. at Councell Farms in Cordova. LandJam is a family-friendly afternoon celebrating the land ESLC works to protect across the Eastern Shore.
The event will feature live music from Black Dog Alley and Kentavius Jones with ESLC’s own Sam Pugh, food from the Easton Lions Club, and craft brews from Cult Classic Brewing. Proceeds from the food and beverage vendors will support ESLC’s land conservation work. Families can also enjoy Councell Farms’ Field of Fun, featuring more than 20 fall attractions and activities, along with fun facts about land conservation.
Kids can feed the goats, explore the playground, pick out a pumpkin, sip apple cider and tackle the corn maze, jumping pillow, combine slide, and straw maze and learn a little about the Eastern Shore. “ESLC is grateful to D&R Improvements and Councell Farms for helping us host LandJam” said ESLC President and CEO Steve Kline. “LandJam gives folks a chance to come together, have fun and learn more about the land we all share. Together, ESLC and our supporters have helped to protect more than 67,000 acres across the Eastern Shore.”
D&R Improvements of Centreville is the presenting sponsor of this year’s LandJam. “ESLC’s efforts to protect wetlands, farmland and forests from development have had a profound positive impact on the Chesapeake Bay,” said David Dunmyer of D&R Improvements. “I’m proud to support ESLC and its mission through this sponsorship.”
Online pre-registration is requested, but walk-ins are welcome.
Councell Farms charges $6 per person for access to the Field of Fun, payable at the door. Children under 2 and grandparents are free. Free parking, bathrooms and handwashing stations will be available. This is a shine-only event.
