The Women & Girls Fund of the Mid-Shore is now accepting grant proposals for programs that directly benefit critical needs facing local women and girls. IRS-designated nonprofit organizations serving the five-county region must submit their completed applications by November 1, 2026, for the 2027 grant cycle.
A component fund of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation, the Women & Girls Fund recently crossed a historic milestone: Since its founding in 2002, the Fund’s cumulative grants exceeded the $1 million mark with this year’s awards.
This past April, $66,100 was distributed to 16 nonprofits in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot counties. Grant recipients spanned a diverse range of community needs, including: All4Love. “Roses and Sunflowers Etiquette Program”; Community Mediation Upper Shore, “Parenting Together: Making Collaborative Plans”; Horizons of Kent & Queen Anne’s, “Making Summer Learning More Equitable”; and YMCA of the Chesapeake, “Strong & Steady: Women’s Parkinson’s at the YMCA.”
“We invite Mid-Shore organizations to apply, and seek to support programs — particularly new innovative ones — that make a meaningful impact on the lives of local women and girls,” said Allie Prell, Grants Committee co-chair. “Our application process is simple and no organization should be reluctant to apply.”
Following the November 1 deadline, the Grants Committee will review all submissions. The final 2027 grant recipients will be formally announced in April 2027 at the annual Grants & Awards Luncheon.
