Easton Point was part of the original portion of Easton, Maryland that was built on London Derry , 500 acres of land surrounding the upper reaches of the Tred Avon River patented to Francis Armstrong in 1667. Francis Armstrong also bought 1,000 more acres in that area from Samuel Tilghman in 1667. Talbot County’s second Court House was built near Pitt’s Bridge on Armstrong’s Old field and the first court was held on June 19, 1711. The pictured road from the Court House to Easton Point was then known as “Cowe Landing” and now Port Street. Port Street was laid out in 1711 by surveyor William Turbutt! Facts: “ Easton Album” by Norman Harrington 1986.
