Piazza Italian Market invites the community to a screening of The Big Cheese on Thursday, October 8, at 6:30 p.m. at Easton Premier Cinemas. Tickets are $19 and are required for admission.
The documentary follows Adam “Mr. Moo” Moskowitz as he coaches a team of American cheesemongers preparing for France’s Mondial du Fromage, known as the “Olympics of Cheese.” Facing cultural clashes, personal struggles, and melting cheese, the competitors pursue what would be Team U.S.A.’s first victory at the competition.
For Piazza, the story feels personal. Moskowitz is a friend of Emily’s and imports many of the market’s cheeses. The film also spotlights the skill behind a familiar part of Piazza’s daily work: its professionally trained cheesemongers cut and handle cheese at the deli counter, practicing a craft regarded as a prestigious career in Europe.
The screening offers audiences a chance to discover that craft and follow a team determined to prove America belongs on the international cheese stage.
Charcuterie cups and Pronto Panino sandwiches are available separately for $12 each. The film is rated PG-13. Guests should present their tickets at the movie theater.
