The walls of this bright, spacious gallery are alive with colorful, innovative artwork—evocative figures, still lifes, street scenes, and landscapes created by some of America’s best artists. This year’s National Artists Invitational Show features 14 nationally-known artists from across the country.
The following artists are featured in this exhibition: Carolyn Anderson from Montana, John Michael Carter from Kentucky, Nancy Seamons Crookston from California, Howard Friedland from Montana, Peggi Kroll-Roberts from California, Robert Lemler from Arizona, Paul Mullally from Washington, Charles Movalli from Massachusetts, Ned Mueller from Washington, Laura Robb from New Mexico, Ray Roberts from California, Randall Sexton from California, Matt Smith from Arizona, and Kevin Weckbach from Colorado.
Gallery director Yolanda Escobedo says artists and collectors appreciate the gallery’s multidimensional appeal and diversity. “I am honored to have some of the leading artists in America exhibit in this prestigious show.”
717 Gallery presented four awards for the exhibition. Nationally‑recognized artist Louis Escobedo, who is exclusively represented by 717 Gallery, served as the curator. Awards went to:
Best of Show – “Village Neighbors” 16×12 oil by John Michael Carter from Kentucky
Award of Excellence – “Pansies & Geraniums” 11×8 oil by Laura Robb from New Mexico
Award of Excellence – “Mill Creek Ice” 14×15 oil by Matt Smith from Arizona
People’s Choice Award – “Arrangement in Blue” 14×11 oil by Laura Robb from New Mexico
Located at 717 Goldsborough Street, this bright, spacious gallery features nationally recognized artists and hosts the invitational exhibition and gallery events throughout the year. 717 Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10:30am to 5:00pm, or by appointment.
On Monday through Thursday, July 13-18 from 10am-4pm during Plein Air Easton, the gallery will hold the annual “Yart Sale” making picture frames, linen panels, and various art supplies available for sale. Artists and art enthusiasts are encouraged to stop by the gallery to see the National Artists Invitational Exhibition and to shop for art supplies during these extended hours.
