717 Gallery in Easton is pleased to announce that Southwest Art magazine featured nationally-known, award winning artist, Louis Escobedo, who is exclusively represented by the gallery. Southwest Art has a national audience and is a leading national art magazine. The article, titled “Vibrant and Eloquent,” appears in the January 2015 issue.
Capturing Escobedo’s versatile style, the article reads, “No matter what he paints, Louis Escobedo emphasizes color and emotional impact.” Escobedo is a realist artist whose wide ranging subjects include everything from playful still lifes to peaceful water scenes to vibrant city steetscapes. In the article, Escobedo says, “Art is a process of discovery . . . a continuous exploration of the way we all see the world. For me, each painting needs to have something that evokes an emotional response both in myself and for the viewer.”
During his fine art career, Louis Escobedo has exhibited his work across the United States, including galleries in California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois, Virginia, and Maryland. He has received many awards, most recently the 2014 Gold Medal in the 23rd Oil Painters of America (OPA) National Juried Exhibition Master Signature Division.
Through March, 717 Gallery features paintings by Louis Escobedo and Chris Wilke. Both artists are exclusively represented by 717 Gallery. On April 3, 717 Gallery will open a new show, “Urban Landscape and Quiet Moments,” which will also feature new Escobedo and Wilke paintings.
Located at 717 Goldsborough Street (across from the Country School) in Easton, the gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10:30am to 5:00pm, or by appointment. More information is online at www.717gallery.com. Contact by email at [email protected], or phone 410.241.7020.
